Surround Yourself With Tacos Not Negativity
A few Fridays ago, when I was fresh off the stomach flu, I went with the family to the Flying Iguana Taqueria & Tequila Bar on Neptune Beach to have margaritas (the family) and a mixed drink with vodka (me). We shared 483745939204757 tortilla chips, a gallon of queso, a cheese quesadilla, shrimp ceviche, and a few other appetizers. Maybe it would have been easier to say we ordered one of every appetizer on the menu.
Midway between inhaling the ceviche, the quesadilla, and the tortilla chips dripping with queso (at one point, I considered spooning it into my mouth because it was so d*mn good) , we paused and ordered tacos. Not every taco on the menu, but almost and in multiples.
After the tacos arrived, we all took a few bites before sitting back in the booth, rubbing our stomachs in blissful agony and saying somewhat in unison, “I shouldn’t have eaten so many chips.” And then someone said, “Why don’t we split an order of churros?”
Of course, we did, and thank God for Tums.
How can you not be happy when you’re surrounded by tacos and your favorite people?
Does everyone eat like that at Mexican restaurants, or is it just us?
