Welcome To My Blog
Hello! Welcome to my blog! My name is Danielle. I’m a wife, mother, and grandmother. I’ve spent most of my life figuring out who I am and what I like. I always envied people who knew their life’s plan because I never figured mine out. This used to bother me, but as I got older, I realized my years of not knowing what I wanted to be when I grew up brought me many adventures and experiences that I might not have otherwise had.
What have I done with my life so far?
I went to business school, worked for an insurance company, got married, had a son, returned to school, briefly worked in the medical field, became a basketball, baseball, and soccer mom, and then an empty-nester before discovering my artistic side. I may never know exactly what I want to do with my life, but being creative is as necessary to me as breathing. My latest obsession is making earrings that reflect my adventures.
I have a great group of friends and a little family who inspire me daily. I've been married for over 30 years to Big Bill, my very tall husband. We live in a community that offers an array of fun things to do, although many nights, I enjoy sitting on the couch watching a movie. My fashion sense is questionable; I wear too much black, and if we go out, you don't want me to drive. I enjoy shopping for treasures at thrift stores and baking. I dance horribly and enjoy exercising, although I'll admit to regularly complaining about it before I do it.
Why write a blog? I'm not afraid to try new things, and I love life. I enjoy mundane events and the good, the bad, and the ugly things that happen to all of us (because there's always a lesson to be learned).
I also like to write (Warning: I may not be very eloquent and have sketchy proofreading skills), and my New Year's Resolution was to "Try Hard Things." Nothing is harder than writing a blog, where you put your thoughts out there for all to read and judge. And for the record, I'm a doofus regarding techy computer stuff. Getting to the point where you're reading this had me on the struggle bus, and hitting "Publish" was terrifying. But guess what? I'll give it my best and see what we end up with.
Fear aside, I'm excited to share my life with you. Some of the things I enjoy you may not, but hopefully, I can inspire and laugh with you.
Cheers, my friends! Let's get this party started!
