The Question Isn’t Who’s Going to Let You It’s Who’s Going to Stop You

Do you want to know who I appreciate more each day?

Women. Especially older women.

Why?

Because we’ve weathered all the storms. Things like decades of marriage that haven’t all been blissful, separation, divorce, periods, pregnancy, raising children, in-laws, family spats, friendship squabbles, financial issues, heartbreaks, births, deaths, illnesses, moves, job losses, impossible beauty standards and becoming invisible as we age.

You name it, we’ve seen it, we’ve experienced it and if it was a problem, chances are we solved it. I don’t think there is anyone stronger than a middle-aged woman.

Sometimes I feel like we need to give each other a nod of recognition when we’re out and about, maybe at Target or wherever.

You know, like driving a Jeep and that little wave. I see you, girlfriend. It’s not always easy but you’re doing a great job.
